There are two project funding rounds a year.
27 July 2007 (for projects beginning after 27 October 2007)
29 February 2008 (for projects beginning after 28 May 2008)
Decisions are announced three months after the closing date.
Funding is not available for projects (or the part of the project for which you're applying for funding) that have started before the decisions are announced: i.e. within three months of the closing date.

Please note: projects that have received Screen Innovation Production Fund post-production funding are not eligible to apply for further post-production funds from the Fund.
Is your project (either in New Zealand or overseas) for an ongoing
programme of school or tertiary (i.e. undergraduate or postgraduate)
study or ongoing private tuition?
If yes, you may still be eligible to apply.
Is your project a contest or competition?
If yes, you may still be eligible to apply if there is a separate professional development component, or if there is a significant focus on accessing new audiences.
Has your project been declined previously by Creative New Zealand?
If yes, you may still be eligible to apply if your application has been revised on the advice of Creative New Zealand staff.
Has any part of your project already been funded by Creative New Zealand, either directly or through the Creative Communities Scheme?
If yes, you may still be eligible to apply.
Has any part of your project received funding from another government organisation such as the New Zealand Lottery Grants Board or NZ on Air?
If yes, you may still be eligible to apply.
Are you an employee of (or under contract to) one of Creative New Zealand's recurrently funded organisations? If yes, is the activity you're seeking funding for specified in your employment agreement or an activity that the recurrently funded organisation may receive funding for?
If yes, you are unlikely to be eligible to apply.
Is your project part of the core business of a tertiary institution
(e.g. university or polytechnic)? If yes, is the activity you're seeking
funding for specified in your employment agreement or an activity that the tertiary institution may receive funding for?
If yes, you are unlikely to be eligible for project funding.
Please discuss your project with the Adviser, Screen Innovation Production Fund if you ticked "yes" to one or more questions in Section B.
Is your report on a previous grant overdue (e.g. more than six months after the project end date)?
Are you an employee of Creative New Zealand?
Are you a member of the Arts Council, the Arts Board, the Pacific Arts Committee or Te Waka Toi?
Are you an organisation that receives funding from the Ministry for
Culture and Heritage?
If you answered "no" to all of the questions and you have checked your project timing (go to the top of this page) then you are eligible to apply.
